Airbus Projects More Conservative Growth

Airbus has revised its production growth predictions for some of the jetliners it builds in Mobile, though the adjustment appears to be no threat to expansion plans at Airbus Alabama, AL.com reports. The manufacturer said it will not meet its ambitious post-pandemic forecast of 700 aircraft deliveries in 2022. However, it did make 68 deliveries in November, bringing the total so far this year to 565 and putting a year-end total of well over 600 within reach. The projections for the A320 family of jets, which includes those built in Mobile, remain at 65 aircraft per month being produced by summer 2023, with 75 projected each month in 2025. Ongoing supply chain disruptions are blamed for this year’s overall slower ramp-up, though monthly production in Mobile has been generally trending upward.
