ArcelorMittal Expands Apprenticeship Program

Lexicon, Inc. has announced its Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship Program at ArcelorMittal in Calvert to expand the company’s training efforts and support the continued development of a highly skilled workforce across the Gulf Coast. Offered in collaboration with Coastal Alabama Community College, the program provides students with hands-on, on-the-job experiences while they complete their coursework. It aims to prepare participants for high-demand careers in industrial maintenance while supporting ArcelorMittal’s ongoing workforce needs. As demand for skilled labor continues to grow across the manufacturing sector, apprenticeship programs are playing an increasingly critical role in building sustainable talent pipelines and developing the next generation of skilled workers. In recent years, these programs have seen significant growth, with participation rising by more than 40% between 2017 and 2023. This momentum reflects a broader shift toward hands-on training that connects individuals directly to in-demand jobs.
