BASF Takes Part In USA Conference

BASF recently announced joining the University of South Alabama’s (USA) Go Explore Math and Science! (GEMS) conference, during which BASF employee volunteers encouraged middle schoolers to pursue math and science career paths at Kids’ Lab sessions. At the most recent event, BASF hosted a session on “Happy Hands & Playful Polymers.” Employee volunteers led chemistry experiments in which the participating children made lotion and slime products. BASF, which has a facility in Madison, Alabama, said the event exposed children to various science, technology, engineering and mathematics education concepts, as well as real-world career opportunities.
