Continental’s Engine Series Surpasses 12 Million Flight Hours

Continental Aerospace Technologies has announced that its Jet-A piston engine series has surpassed 12 million flight hours. The popular jet-fuel-burning piston engines are sold worldwide. “These engines have gained significant traction among private aircraft owners and flight schools, who appreciate their ease of operation and consistent power delivery,” the company said. Among the series, the CD-170 stands out as the newest. Featuring turbocharging technology, the model delivers 170 horsepower of takeoff power with a dry weight below 345 lbs. “This combination of high performance and efficiency has earned the CD-170 a reputation as one of the top engines in its class, favored by operators for its Full Authority Digital Control engine system and exceptional power-to-weight ratio,” the company added. Continental also marked 120 years this month.
