Hiller Acquires Two Companies
The Hiller Cos., headquartered in Mobile, has announced two acquisitions. First is Nevada Fire Protection (NFP), based in Las Vegas. NFP is 100% service-based, with capabilities including sprinklers, fire alarms and a proprietary monitoring network. Hiller said it will provide inspections, testing, monitoring, repair and maintenance to customers in Greater Las Vegas, while NFP will continue to operate its installation and retrofit business. NFP was founded by Don Blunt in 1996 in Reno, Nevada. Now known as “Hiller Las Vegas,” it will be led by General Manager Keith Carter. “I am excited to dive into the Las Vegas market and build on the foundation of NFP,” said Carter. “This is a great opportunity for Hiller to grow our service offering and expand our reach.”The other company Hiller, which recently merged with Unifour Fire and Safety, acquired, is Troy, Missouri-based Mid Rivers Fire Safety Inc. Mid Rivers brings more than 20 years of experience providing inland marine fire protection services to St. Charles, St. Louis and surrounding areas. John Cocke, vice president of Hiller’s marine and Gulf Coast group, said, “This relationship allows Hiller to better serve the brown water industry by having an established location in high-volume marine waterways that act as gateways to major cities in the central-eastern portion of the U.S. and in close proximity to the Mississippi River.” Former Mid Rivers owners Kathy and Curt Favre will join Hiller, with the company being named “Hiller St. Louis.” The Favres will continue day-to-day operations of the location.
