Incoa to Build New Facility
Theodore will be home to a new Incoa Performance Minerals facility in the next five years, Alabama Newscenter recently reported. The $110.85-million calcium carbonate plant in Theodore is expected to employ 74 workers to produce the high-quality filler material for U.S. markets. It will also locate its processing operations at Millard Maritime, which owns and operates a 300-acre port facility in Theodore. Incoa Chief Operating Officer Tyson Creamer commented, “The value proposition is its central location on the Gulf Coast with good rail, barge and relative distance from a major interstate. We will provide performance-based minerals that go into the products we use every day – paper, plastic, paints, glass, film wrappers, etc.” Peterson Partners, a private equity firm in Salt Lake City, owns the startup company.
