SLB OneSunsea And Primo Collaborate In Mobile

SLB OneSubsea is investing in a new 24,000-ft2 building at its facility at 7611 Lake Road South in Mobile to enable Primo, a Denmark-based plastic profile manufacturer, to supply PVC profiles for subsea cables—a key component of the OneSubsea umbilical design. According to the Mobile Chamber, the $5.8-million facility will create 12 new jobs in the region and further strengthen the industrial ecosystem supporting the oil and gas sector. The collaboration for the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) profile extrusion facility “marks an important step in Primo’s expansion into the U.S. market,” PrimoCEO Claus Tønnesen said. “By establishing our plastic extrusion facility in Mobile, we are not only strengthening our collaboration with OneSubsea, but also contributing to the region’s thriving industrial sector. We look forward to growing our presence here and creating new opportunities for innovation in the oil and gas industry.”
