Gulf Coast Media Selected For 2025 Report For American Program

Gulf Coast Media has been selected as a 2025 Report for America host newsroom partner and will be joining an expanding network of more than 400 newsrooms benefiting from the support of this nonprofit program. Report for America is a national service program that places journalists in local newsrooms to report on undercovered issues and communities. Through this partnership, Gulf Coast Media will expand its coverage of growth and development in Baldwin County with a new reporter looking at the impact these have on the lives of those who both live in and visit the area, from the environment to workforce development and from education to quality of life. Report for America is a two-year program (with an option for three) that delivers a range of benefits to its members. Beyond paying up to half of the journalists’ salaries, it provides ongoing training and mentorship by leading journalists, peer networking and memberships to select professional organizations. Journalists interested in the position may apply by February 3, 2025, for positions beginning July 7, 2025.
