Local Culinary Tour Host Announces Book Release And Event

Chris Andrews of the Bienville Bites Food Tour has announced the release of A Culinary History of Mobile on October 23. The tour group has been sharing stories and anecdotes of Mobile’s food history since 2017, and it says the book “will be available anywhere books are sold,” including The Haunted Book Shop, which will host a launch party on the evening of the release date starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will include a book signing and feature local food vendors and eateries. Andrews, who was born in Mobile and is a graduate of Satsuma High School, is the founder and CEO of the Bienville Bites Food Tour. In 2017, he combined his passion for food and history when he launched the first food tour in Mobile. Since, Bienville Bites has been named the “Best Food Tour in Alabama” and has been consistently awarded the “Certificate of Excellence” by TripAdvisor. This certificate is given to the top 10% of attractions worldwide based on five-star reviews. In fall 2020, Andrews and his wife, Laney, launched the Taste of Fairhope tour, giving people an opportunity to connect through food and drink on both sides of Mobile Bay. This is Andrews’ first published book.
