Local Student To Compete On Masterchef Junior

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Starla Chapman of Bay Minette will be a contestant on the upcoming season of MasterChef Junior that is set to premier on March 17 on FOX. Chapman is a student at Bay Minette Middle School. Her signature dish is a Doritos-crusted chicken breast with a side Caesar salad, and her culinary dream is to open a food truck serving mini pancakes and waffles with southern fried meats. Previously, Chapman, a former leukemia patient, was officially declared Alabama’s 2014 Champion Child for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In 2018, she was named as the first-ever “Kid Head Chef” for IHOP’s Kid Culinary Team.
