Mobile Bay Magazine Presents Green Inspiration Home

Mobile Bay Magazine has teamed up with WATERSHED and SCC Group to present its first green Inspiration Home in Fairhope’s Bluff neighborhood. Tours are available between January 27-February 20, 2022, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. on Sundays. The home “celebrates a healthy coastal lifestyle and a healthy environment” with a design intended to integrate natural materials, views to nature, interior plants, water elements and dynamic natural lighting. Such biophilic design strategies are said to reduce heart rates and promote positive mental health and wellbeing. The home uses roughly half the energy and water of a typical Fairhope residence and features locally sourced stone and wood and recycled materials, in addition to stormwater filtration, runoff reduction and edible/habitable plants.
