Mobile Native Publishes Second Book

According to WKRG, Mobile native Dr. Jasmine Killibrew lost her principal job last year at a tuition-based school because of the pandemic. After that, she turned to writing and released her children’s book, There is a Girl Headed to the White House, in August 2020. It has since sold more than 5,000 copies nationwide. Her new book, Don’t Forget My Name, comes a year after the death of Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man who was shot while jogging after being suspected of burglary by white neighbors in Georgia. It aims to shine a light on racial injustice in America by highlighting victims of violence and police brutality. Both books are illustrated by people of color and available at Walmart, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
