Press-Register To Be Fully Digital In February

MOBILE, Ala — The Mobile Press-Register, along with the other newspapers that are a part of Alabama Media Group—The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times and The Mississippi Press—will cease print publication in February 2023, the group recently announced and Business Alabama reported. Alabama Media Group will focus on its digital brands, including AL.com, the “Alabama Education Lab,” “This is Alabama,” “People of Alabama” and “The Lede.” The company will keep offices in Huntsville, Mobile and Birmingham, though the closing will “impact some local employees in production, circulation and advertising,” according to the announcement. The company will also close a production facility in Mobile.
