WKRG Wins Four Abby Awards

The Alabama Broadcasters Association (ABA) held their 17th annual Alabama’s Best in Broadcasting (ABBY) Awards, recently, and WKRG won four ABBY awards at the event. WKRG’s winner categories and winners are: ABBY Award for Photojournalist, Arnell Hamilton; Award of Merit for Television Feature, “Haunted Malaga Inn”; ABBY Award for Television Feature, “Mobile’s Murals”; and ABBY Award for Television Hard News Reporting: “Fentanyl Crisis.” According to the ABA website, more than 300 television and radio broadcasters competed for multiple stations across the state. WKRG News 5’s Cherish Lombard and Debbie Williams accepted the awards.
