CARE House Receives State Grant

CARE House of Summerdale County has received a $85,363 grant from Gov. Kay Ivey for help providing a range of services to victims of child abuse or neglect, child sexual abuse and child pornography, Mullet Wrapper announced. Ivey awarded five grants totaling $486,723 to organizations that serve victims of child abuse in South Alabama. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grants with funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice. CARE House is Baldwin County’s resource and referral source on child abuse. Its mission is to provide resources and services to victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, their supportive family members and the community through a multidisciplinary team approach, while advancing child abuse prevention endeavors.
