Community Foundation of South Alabama Opening Community Center

Nonprofit philanthropy organization Community Foundation of South Alabama is holding the grand opening of its community center on May 5 at 3:30-6:30 p.m. The building, at 212 St. Joseph Street, intends to provide a convening space for nonprofits, businesses and leaders to work together in collective efforts, the foundation said. Two-thirds of the $3-million, 6,919-ft2 building is to be allocated for public use “to educate, promote and demonstrate philanthropy, convene the community to discuss its needs and identify solutions and continue efforts to strengthen the nonprofit community,” it added.
