Festival Of Flowers Announced

The 31st annual Festival of Flowers has been announced for March 8-10 at Cathedral Square in Downtown Mobile. It will showcase life-sized living sculptures created by regionally acclaimed florists, artists and garden designers on the theme of “Make Your Mark.” These artists will vie for bragging rights for the Festival of Flowers People’s Choice Award, to be voted on by visitors. Special events include a Saturday morning Exotic Car Show, Buds and Brews and self-guided tours of area gardens. On Sunday, visitors may bring their dogs to enjoy the show during Welcome All Wags at 3-5 p.m. Show hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on March 8 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 9 and 10. A donation is required for entry. Ticketed events are Buds and Brews ($40) and the pre-event Festival of Flowers Gala ($175), set for March 7 at 7-10 p.m. Festival proceeds will be used to purchase advanced electrocardiogram equipment for the USA Health Providence Cardiac Care Unit.
