MOBILE, Ala — Mobile’s Housing First, Inc.’s (HFI’s) board of directors and agency staff recently hosted José Alvarez, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regional administrator for the Southeast, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. At the event, Alvarez and Ken Free, HUD’s Alabama field office director, presented HFI with a certificate of recognition for HFI’s “exceptional service, untiring effort, and continuous work to address homelessness in Southwest Alabama.” Additionally, HFI’s community outreach department is partnering with Spring Hill College, which has committed to provide a minimum of 50 students for HFI’s Project Homeless Connect Event, taking place on January 27, 2023.
