Housing First Elects Board President

MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile’s Housing First, Inc. has elected George Talbot as chairman of its corporate board of directors. His term lasts one year, but he may be re-elected by the board members to serve a second year. His role includes approving the board’s meeting agenda and leading its bimonthly meetings and those of the Housing First Executive Committee. Talbot has been director of governmental affairs with Volkert Engineering in Mobile since September 2020. Previously, he served the City of Mobile as executive director of external affairs and communications for seven years. He “is a wealth of knowledge and professional expertise,” Housing First CEO Derek Boulware said. “His years of experience in both the government and private sector within Mobile and Baldwin counties makes him an outstanding choice to lead the board of directors as we work together to end homelessness in southwest Alabama.”
