Impact 100 Baldwin County To Award $515,000 In Grants
Impact 100 Baldwin County recently announced it will award five $103,000 grants later this year to nonprofits serving Baldwin County. The $515,000 in grants will fund programs intended to make a difference in the quality of life for locals. Each year, Impact 100’s grants are given in direct relation to the number of members who join or renew their memberships. Every dollar of a member’s $1,000 contribution goes directly to the grants. This year’s membership drive, which concluded March 31, resulted in a total of 510 renewing or joining women, which includes a record-breaking 99 new members. The organization, now in its 17th year of grant making, awards the grants in five focus areas: “Arts, Culture & Recreation,” “Education,” “Environment & Preservation,” “Family” and “Health & Wellness.” Nonprofits have until May 14 to submit their letters of intent, and June 3 is the deadline for submitting grant applications. Impact 100 members volunteer to serve in focus groups to evaluate the grant applications and select finalists, with the entire membership voting to select the five grant recipients at the Evening of Impact event on October 24.
