Lee Charities Names President

 Lee Charities has appointed Mitchell Lee as president. Lee Charities was founded in 2024 by David and Mitchell Lee with a mission to elevate the nonprofit and social services network in Baldwin County through leadership, insight and giving. Mitchell Lee served as executive director of the South Baldwin Literacy Council in Foley, where he focused on addressing gaps within the nonprofit sector, particularly in the areas of educational services, between 2018 and 2024. Mitchell has been involved in nonprofit work since 2015, beginning his career as a case manager at a 100-bed men’s homeless shelter. He earned his State of Alabama Social Work License in 2018. Throughout his career, Mitchell has worked across multiple sectors including homelessness, education, mental health and land conservation. He also serves on several community boards and holds a master’s in social work at Arizona State University and a degree in psychology from the University of West Florida.
