Love Your Community Teams Receive $7,500 In Grants

Six Love Your Community teams were recently presented with grants totaling $7,500 by the Mobile County Commission. The grants were presented to the following groups: $500 to the Hope and Charity Coalition Group to host a community cleanup in Fernland near Grand Bay; $1,000 to the LeRoy Raine Team for a brick memorial and landscaping at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard in Mobile; and $1,500 grants each to the Infinite Opportunities Team to continue beautification efforts at an affordable housing/ hotel renovation project on Highway 45 in Citronelle, Team Flo Claire 2 for landscaping a median and planting sago palms in Commission District 1, the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Team to continue the Outdoor Classroom/Butterfly Garden Project in Commission District 2 and the Loving Litter Pickup Team to continue work to beautify Bayou La Batre. Since 2021, more than $50,000 in grants have been awarded by the commission through the Love Your Community program. It is funded by the commission and the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act, operated through a partnership with Keep Mobile Beautiful, and engaged with the Alabama Coastal Heritage Trust and Clean Water Future.
