More Than 600 Volunteer For Project Homeless Connect

Mobile’s Housing First, Inc. (HFI) has announced that its 2023 Project Homeless Connect event, which took place on January 27 at The Grounds in Mobile, was again a success. It reports 530 clients served, 430 Wave transit trips, more than 600 volunteers, 110 state IDs issued, 102 clients receiving legal assistance and 29 health and wellness checks. Volunteers from the University of South Alabama, of which there were 311, served more than 1,511 hours. Additionally, 300 volunteers from 58 community organizations provided services. Eighteen of these were health and wellness providers. The event has taken place each year since 2014 and is made possible by partnerships between HFI and local service providers, organizations and community members.
