Nonprofit Rebrands As “Vets Recover”

Mobile-based nonprofit Veterans Recovery Resources has announced it will be rebranded as Vets Recover – Transforming the Culture of Care. Vets Recover is one of only three Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) in Alabama and the only CCBHC in the U.S. focused on service members, veterans, first responders and their families. The CCBHC model is designed to increase access to behavioral health services, including crisis services, that respond to local community needs, incorporate evidence-based practices and establish care coordination to help people navigate behavioral healthcare, physical healthcare and social services. “Changing our name to Vets Recover is another step in the evolution of our organization,” said founder and CEO John Kilpatrick. “We’ve used the term internally for years, and our website URL has been vetsrecover.org since the beginning. We hope it simplifies things, especially for those in our community who are in desperate need of the life-saving care we provide.” The organization’s next big plans are to open its Detox & Residential Treatment Facility in November on Springhill Avenue next door to its clinic. The new facility will have 34 beds, create approximately 30 new jobs and add $3 million in annual payroll into this community. It is expected to provide a level of care not currently available within a 4-hour drive of Mobile.
