Nonprofit Training Series Coming To Mobile

The Auburn University College of Human Sciences’ Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies is partnering with the Community Foundation of South Alabama to train nonprofits on October 24 at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the foundation’s location at 212 St. Joseph Street in Mobile. Registration, $10, is required and includes lunch. The Cary Center Nonprofit Training Series will include lunch and sessions on collaboration in the community for success, fundraising essentials, steps to securing major gifts and writing winning grants. Featured experts include Lindsay Lum, director of agency relations and community engagement, United Way of Southwest Alabama; William H. Bryant, Jr., scout executive/CEO, Mobile Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; Brenda Carlisle, director of development, Home of Grace for Women, Inc.; Laura M. O’Connor, vice president of community development, Mobile Chamber of Commerce; and Lynne Chronister, principal, Chronister, LLC. The Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies is an academic center in Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences with a focus on financial wellness, philanthropy engagement and nonprofit studies.
