Prodisee Pantry broke ground on Prodisee Pantry North, a new 8,000-ft2 food pantry and resource center that will bring permanent food distribution and support services to rural North Baldwin County, on July 23. The new facility, at the corner of Highway 225 and Lakeview Road in Stockton on 4.5 acres, is to cost $3.8 million. The land was donated by the Baldwin County Commission earlier this year. Prodisee Pantry’s board approved the project in April, and Mobile-based White-Spunner Construction will serve as general contractor, with completion targeted for June 2027. Once complete, Prodisee Pantry North will include two loading docks, a walk-in freezer and cooler, a 3,400-ft2 food warehouse, dedicated office and clinic space, a 3,400-ft2 community room, and 150 parking spaces to accommodate high-volume distribution days. The facility is designed to mirror the weekly food distributions and onsite supportive-partner services already offered at Prodisee Pantry’s Spanish Fort headquarters, with various local healthcare and social service providers committing to bring legal, medical, dental and financial counseling services onsite. Roughly 42% of Prodisee Pantry’s client families live in the rural North Baldwin County communities Prodisee Pantry North is built to serve.
