Red Clay Strays Program Benefits Penelope House

Popular band from Mobile Red Clay Strays recently raised money for Mobile nonprofit Penelope House, WKRG reports. The band recently created its first charitable program, The Get Right Project. As part of the initiative, the group held a raffle to raise money for Penelope House in an effort to make a difference in the lives of people suffering from domestic violence. “When our clients come into the shelter, they come in police cars so they don’t get to grab clothes and shoes and purses,” Penelope’s Closet Manager Karen Robinson said. “They just come to us as they are, and then we provide everything they need right out of Penelope’s Closet.” The program also benefits the national voluntary health organization American Foundation for Suicide Awareness.
