Sea Lab Foundation Announces Awards Luncheon

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation is hosting the Marine Environmental Awards Luncheon on November 10 at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Battle House Hotel. Dr. Neil Hammerschlag, the keynote speaker, is a marine ecologist and research associate professor at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy. He also serves as director of the Shark Research & Conservation Program at the University of Miami. Hammerschlag researches the behavioral ecology of marine top predators under global change. He has been featured on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, NBC’s “Today Show,” CNN and ABC’s “Good Morning America.” The foundation will also recognize Walter Ernest and the Mobile County Commission for their contributions to marine environmental sustainability in the community. Tickets are $50.
