State Grants For Penelope House, Family Counseling Center

Gov. Kay Ivey has announced more than $2.4 million in grants to help crime victims in Alabama, FOX10 reports. The grants, which aim to ensure victims of domestic violence and other abusive crimes can find safe housing and other essential elements, will go to 11 nonprofit agencies. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grants from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice. Locally, Penelope House, Inc. will receive $242,592 to assist victims in Mobile, Choctaw, Clarke and Washington counties, and Family Counseling Center of Mobile Inc. will receive $118,938 to serve victims in Mobile, Clarke and Washington counties.
