United Way Hires Marketing Coordinator

 United Way of Southwest Alabama has announced the addition of Sidney Powers as its new marketing coordinator. Powers is tasked with expanding the nonprofit’s reach through creative social media strategies and enhanced content, highlighting work of United Way and its community partners. With a degree in public relations from the University of Alabama, she has practical experience in nonprofit campaigns and fundraising. During her time at college, she developed and executed a fundraising campaign for the nonprofit Secret Meals in Tuscaloosa. “What I love about the mission of United Way is how we bring people together for a greater purpose,” she explained. “I’ve always wanted to be someone who actively contributes to the community and gets to help others—this role is a perfect fit.”
