USWSA Day Of Caring Coming Up

The United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) will hold its 32nd Annual Day of Caring on May 1. In honor of its centennial year, Day of Caring 2026 will expand into a monthlong celebration of service throughout April in recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Month, culminating in the communitywide Day of Caring. United Way plans to complete 100 community projects as part of the centennial celebration, reflecting a century of neighbors helping neighbors. Day of Caring connects volunteer teams with local nonprofit partner agencies to complete meaningful, hands-on projects. Teams may paint, landscape, organize donations, complete facility improvements, assist with cleanups or host collection drives for items identified on an agency’s wishlists. These projects address essential needs that agencies often lack the time or resources to complete on their own while delivering immediate, visible impact and strengthening services across Mobile, Choctaw, Clarke and Washington counties. For more information, contact Lindsay Lum at email or phone: 251-433-3624. For sponsorship opportunities, contact Lauren Luckie-Merz at email or phone: 251-433-3624.
