Zoo Camp Details Announced

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo in Gulf Shores is holding Zoo Camp on June 9-July 25. Camp hours are 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Extended care beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. is available. The cost is $225 per camper per week for nonmembers and $200 per camper per week for members. Registration includes a camp T-shirt, a Kona Ice treat, a carousel ride, a giraffe feeding and a contact barn hay cup. Weekly themes are, “What Is a Zoo and What Does a Keeper Do?” “Not All Superheroes Wear Capes,” “Predator Versus Prey,” “Before They’re All Gone,” “It’s a Zoo Around Here” and “Design-A-Zoo & Zookeeper Olympics.” Students must have completed grades K-4. The registration deadline is May 9. Students in grades 7-12 interested in participating as junior camp counselors may contact Sonda Stokes, zoo education programs manager, at email.
