Zoo Fundraising Dinner Coming Up

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo Forage-to-Fork Dinner is taking place on June 14 at 5-8 p.m. The 21-and-older event is billed as a “culinary adventure that bridges the gap between nature and your plate.” Guests will embark on an educational hike through the wilderness on the grounds of the zoo in Gulf Shores. Their guides will be expert foragers Chef Tanner Hammond, The Mushroom Man and Natasha Freeman from Bee-Lightful Botanicals. Guests will gather their finds as they learn to differentiate between edible plants and lookalikes. They will then prepare and eat the plants while they hear stories on their folklore, healing properties and ancient uses. Tickets are $100 per person.
