According to AL.com, a new 25,740-ft2 Publix supermarket is scheduled to open later this month in the Paradise Isle Shopping Center at 1720 Gulf Shores Parkway in Gulf Shores. The store, developed on the former Winn-Dixie site near Zaxby’s, will also include a pharmacy. In Semmes, an investor paid $1.75 million for 17 acres at the northwest corner of Schillinger Road and Silver Pine Road, and plans call for a future development and outparcels on the site, according to Herrington Realty, which handled the transaction. The property is across from the new Semmes Village shopping center on Silver Pine Road, which will be anchored by a 43,384-ft2 Publix. Semmes Village will also feature 11 retail shop spaces and is scheduled to open this fall. In Foley, CubeSmart Self Storage developers paid $950,000 for the Foley RV Park on 3 acres on the new Juniper Street extension, according to Alla Nikitina of Ryals Realty, who represented the seller. Ken Crabtree of Signature Properties worked for the buyers, who plan to expand their storage operation in the near future with an 80,000-ft2 facility on the site. In Orange Beach, developers are seeking to build a 26-slip marina on the Intracoastal Waterway at 22321 Canal Road, according to city planning. The 3.3 acres is zoned industrial, and owners are seeking to rezone it as a planned unit development. Also in Orange Beach, local vacation home rental agency Liquid Life is seeking site plan review to build a 22,100-ft2 operations facility at 4404 and 4422 Canal Square Lane.
