August 23 Real Estate Update
According to AL.com, Bealls Home store has leased the former Bed Bath & Beyond store space in the Pelican Place shopping center off Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. A trucking company paid $250,000 for 45 acres at 13250 Highway 43 in Axis and plans to use the property for a terminal location, according to James Henderson of Realty Executives Bay Group, who represented the buyer. Terry McKinney of Delaney Land & Realty worked for the seller. Finir Finish, an interior finish showroom, has expanded its space to 4,500 ft2 at 9244 Highway 98 in Fairhope, according to Crawford Stitt of White-Spunner Realty, who represented the landlord. Doc’s Seafood owners are seeking site plan approval to build a restaurant on 2.37 acres just south of Miflin Road and west of Boulevard De Sevilla in Foley. Doc’s is owned by the Schwartz Family Limited Partnership, and there are two locations in Orange Beach. Watch for more subdivisions near Fairhope and Elberta, according to county planners. Saddlebrook, a 339-lot residential project, received preliminary plat approval for the development on 167 acres off Greeno Road near Baldwin County 24 close to Fairhope. Bear Creek, a 132-lot residential project, is planned for 59 acres along Baldwin County 83 near Kichler Circle just north of Elberta. The Cove, a 46-unit development with a private marina with 46 slips, is planned for 23 wooded acres at the southern end of Geno Road in Gulf Shores. The site is between the Intracoastal Waterway and Perry’s Landing at Cotton Creek subdivision. The residential would include single-family homes and townhomes.
