Large Event Space Planned For Downtown Mobile

A soon-to-be event space on St. Louis Street is expected to be the largest of its kind in Downtown Mobile with the potential of hosting Mardi Gras balls, WKRG reports. Sarah Clark bought the building to be a part of the Crown Hall franchise, and it will be called Crown on St. Louis. The former warehouse and antique store boasted 30,000 ft2 inside. Clark hopes to accommodate 2,500-3,000 people at once for events including weddings, concerts, parties, etc. She also mentioned wanting to add a courtyard. The City of Mobile has been working to revitalize a 17-block section of St. Louis Street for months. The St. Louis revitalization project would upgrade existing utilities, streetscaping, roadway and storm drainage. More business growth in the area means more federal money the city can get for improvements. The city has reached 100% construction design on the entire project and is waiting for federal approvals before starting the revitalization project’s bid process. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025.
