Mobile Middle School Building Sold

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced that the City of Mobile bought the former Mae Eanes Middle School at 1901 Hurtel Street in Mobile. Having been derelict since closing in 2018, it has garnered offers in recent months (Mobile Middle School Building To Be For Sale). Stimpson said the city will use it “as a potential location for future affordable housing options.” The planned development will include 94 units in its first phase and be part of the city’s broader efforts to expand affordable housing. The purchase from the Mobile County School Board is still being finalized.
