More Upcoming Information Sessions For Homeownership Program

Mobile County’s new Homeownership Down Payment Assistance Program, designed to help residents affected by Hurricanes Sally and Zeta in 2020 and promote affordable homeownership, offers up to $50,000 in down payment assistance for qualified individuals and households looking to buy a single-family home in designated areas within Mobile County. It prioritizes low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters affected by the 2020 hurricanes but also encourages those on the path to homeownership to apply. To qualify, household income must be 120% or less of the current median family income for Mobile County. The program is funded by Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds awarded to Mobile County through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. Upcoming Information sessions are July 15 at 6-8 p.m. at the Jon Archer Agricultural Center in Mobile, July 17 at 6-8 p.m. at the Saraland Community Center and August 5 at 6-8 p.m. at the Bayou La Batre Community Center. Additional sessions will be announced as needed.
