According to AL.com, the former Spot of Tea restaurant at 310 Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile, was purchased by a local investor for $1.29 million, said David Kahalley of Shamrock Properties in Daphne, who represented the seller. The buyer plans to renovate the 1836 Zoghby-Moore building space for a future development. Mary Daffin of IXL Real Estate represented the buyer. Also in Mobile, Carter’s, a popular brand specializing in children’s apparel, particularly for toddlers and babies, has leased 3,924 ft2 in McGowin Park off Satchel Paige Drive near Government Boulevard, according to Martin Smith and Cooper Smith of SRS Real Estate Partners’ Birmingham office, who represented the landlord. Buff Teague of JLL worked for Carter’s. Additionally, Mobile developers are seeking planning approval to build the Colony Woods Townhomes on 8 acres in the 600 block of Dawes Road. Nearby, volume builder D.R. Horton plans to develop the Anglebrook subdivision with 108 lots on almost 40 acres at 2301 McFarland Road. High Tide Daiquiris & Mimosas has opened a new location at the Beachside Resort Hotel at 610 West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores. High Tide also has a restaurant at 807 Gulf Shores Parkway in Gulf Shores. Also in Gulf Shores, watch for Bealls to open its new home store next weekend at Pelican Place shopping center off Highway 59. Bealls will occupy the former Bed Bath & Beyond space.
