Local developers paid $825,000 for the former Landmark East condominium site at 588 East Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores, according to David and Angie Swiger of Swiger & Co. Realtors, who coordinated the transaction. In Spanish Fort, a local investor paid $250,000 for almost 1.5 acres on U.S. 31 and plans to build a retail building on the site, according to Tim Herrington of Herrington Realty, who represented the buyer. The nearest large cross street is Highway 181. The seller was represented by Bill Menas of RE/MAX Signature Properties.

In Foley, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers has leased 1,400 ft2 of retail space in Foley Plaza at 2159 South McKenzie Street in Foley, according to Angie McArthur of Stirling Properties. McArthur also reported on barber shop The Alibi having leased 2,944 ft2 of retail space in Music Plaza at 3656 Government Boulevard in Mobile, where it plans to open in the spring. McArthur represented the landlord, and Timothy Mills of The Cummings Co. worked for the barber shop.
