According to AL.com, investors paid $2.2 million for a 4,245-ft2 commercial center at 390 Schillinger Road South, near Airport Boulevard in Mobile, according to Andrew Chason of Marcus & Millichap in Fairhope. Also in Mobile, Willoughby Roofing & Sheet Metal, based in Cullman, Alabama, paid $150,000 for Rick’s Machine Shop at 3210 Dauphin Island Parkway, according to Cameron Weavil of The Weavil Co., who represented the buyer. David Dexter and J.T. Jenkins of NAI Mobile represented the seller. At 1621 South University Boulevard, Mobile, a local investor paid $85,000 for 1,050 ft2 of office space on the first floor of Magnolia Place. The news came from Jill Meeks of Stirling Properties, who handled the transaction.
Across the bay, a local investor paid $550,000 for 1.49 acres at the northeast corner of U.S. 31 and Stagecoach Road in Spanish Fort but has no immediate plans for the land, according to Sharon Wright of White-Spunner Realty, who represented the buyer. Lydia Franz of Re/Max Orange Beach commercial division worked with the seller. A subdivision that could have as many as 600 home lots was approved by the Foley City Council. The property includes 240 acres near the southeast corner of County Road 12 and the Foley Beach Express. The Roberts Cove builder will be D.R. Horton. In Orange Beach, local property owners are seeking to develop two buildings totaling 18,200 ft2 to accommodate boat and recreational vehicle storage at 24689 Canal Road, according to the Orange Beach Planning Commission.
