MOBILE, BALDWIN COUNTY Ala. — According to AL.com, an out-of-town investor paid $2.1 million for Rosewood Apartments, a 34-unit complex at 6601 Old Shell Road in Mobile, according to John Napper of Gulfbelt Properties, who handled the transaction. The apartments are located near the University of South Alabama. Also in Mobile, Shades Sunglasses & Casual Apparel has leased 4,000 ft2 in Legacy Village on Du Rhu Drive in Mobile, according to Vallas Realty. The retailer joins Lululemon, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and others in the shopping center. In Orange Beach, a 120-room Spring Suites by Marriott is to be developed on 2.8 acres at 24241 Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach. In Daphne, owners of Southwood Kitchen have leased the 1,500-ft2 former Record Bar space at 1203 Highway 98 and plan to remodel and rename it Southbar, according to Harry Johnson of HPJ Properties, who represented the owner. Also in Daphne, U-Haul is looking to develop a self-storage facility, including truck and trailer rental, on more than 4 acres just southeast of Whispering Pines Road and Highway 98, according to the Daphne Planning Commission.
