According to AL.com, volume home builder D.R. Horton purchased the former JCPenney building in Spanish Fort Town Center at 22000 Town Centre Avenue and plans to relocate its South Alabama/Gulf Coast regional offices there, according to Angie McArthur and Jeff Barnes of Stirling Properties. In Saraland, a local business owner paid $160,000 for a building at 1306 Highway 43 and plans to renovate the property and locate his boat sales and service center there, according to James Henderson of Realty Executives Bay Group, who represented the buyer. Outside Fairhope but within its planning commission jurisdiction, Rockwell Place, a 252-unit apartment complex, is to be built on Highway 181 across from The Waters subdivision. The 21-acre site is unzoned. Near Daphne, developers have received approval to annex 108 acres on County Road 13 adjacent to the Oldfield subdivision into the City of Daphne and are looking to build a 236-lot subdivision called Hope Vineyard.

In Mobile, the Linksman Golf Club on 100 acres on St. Andrews Drive was purchased for $850,000 by the Mobile County Commission, which plans to renovate the 18-hole course and add park and pavilion areas, according to Kenny Nichols of Vallas Realty, who represented the sellers. Also in Mobile, Wellhouse Real Estate has leased 1,172 ft2 of office space at 4464 Old Shell Road in Mobile, according to Mike Reid of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the landlord and tenant. The office building is at the intersection of Springhill and McGregor avenues behind Pollman’s Bake Shop. Sheron Atwell of eXp Realty worked for the seller. In Midtown Mobile, Rhodes Properties 1 paid $190,000 for a 1,268-ft2 office at 2566 Dauphin Street, according to Reid, who represented the sellers, Billy R. Williams and Rebecca Williams, who are building a new office nearby for their financial planning business.
