According to AL.com, local investors paid $3.52 million for a 63,000-ft2 distribution warehouse at 981 Corporate Drive South in Mobile, according to Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the buyers. Joey Betbeze of Betbeze Realty Co. worked for the seller. Also in Mobile, the owner and operator of Rock the House Cafe at 2206 Government Street has purchased the restaurant building for $70,000, according to Josh W. Hall of CRE Mobile, who handled the transaction. The Country Club of Mobile is seeking Mobile Planning Commission approval to build pickleball courts at the private club property. The club is asking the commission to amend its Planned Unit Development to allow the project. In Theodore, Up N Smoke has leased 3,600 ft2 at 7317 Theodore Dawes Road, according to Andrew Dickman of Stirling Properties, who represented the tenant. In Foley, Beach Bum Outdoors has leased a 12,000-ft2 building at 1000 South McKenzie Street, according to David Milstead of Bellator Commercial Real Estate, who handled the transaction. Beach Bum also plans to open a store at the corner of Highway 59 and West 1st Street in Gulf Shores. In Orange Beach, the Orange Beach Board of Education central office is to be built at 4544 and 4550 Orange Beach Boulevard, according to city planning records. The office will be 6,400 ft2. Nearby, Abaco Orange Beach developers are seeking site plan review approval to build a 259-unit condominium complex and a marina on Terry Cove at 4443 and 4459 Captain Trent Lane. In Gulf Shores, Presales are under way for Pelican Place, a 15-cottage project at 1050 West Beach Boulevard, according to Stephen Harrison of Re/Max of Gulf Shores. The local developers are Eddie Spence and Miles “Bubba” Reed, who also partnered on Sandpiper Cottages and Lost Dunes Cottages, both in Gulf Shores.
