Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits To Take Over Historic Bakery Building In Foley

At Foley Main Street’s biannual meeting, Mayor Ralph Hellmich announced that Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits, owned by Brenda Marie Coulton, will be taking over the 10,000-ft2 historic bakery building in Downtown Foley. The downstairs area of 5,000 ft2 will house the restaurant, while the upstairs will feature three apartments and an office. The Coultons plan to use the apartments to provide housing for their team. Jeremy Friedman of Katapult Properties in Daphne and Mark Wright co-own the historic property under the name of “118 W. Laurel Avenue,” AL.com reported. The pair purchased the building from the City of Foley in 2020 and have been renovating it to lease. Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits, known for its four locations in Arizona, is expanding for the first time with this new venture. The restaurant is known for its made-from-scratch menu centered around smoked meats.
