Midtown Winn-Dixie To Become An Aldi

The Weinacker’s Winn-Dixie at 1550 Government Street in Midtown Mobile is slated to become an Aldi by the end of the year, according to a company spokesperson, Lagniappe is among outlets to report. The store will close for renovations in late September. While the store is temporarily closed, current employees will have the first opportunity to apply to work at the new Aldi. In August 2023, Aldi reached an agreement with Southeastern Grocers to acquire all of its Winn-Dixie locations, including the one in Midtown.
