Mobile King Cake-Off Announced

The 2021 Mobile King Cake-Off will run until January 29. This year’s event is completely virtual but encourages participants to visit area bakers, eateries, ice cream shops, grocers and others to sample their king cake or king cake-inspired treats, then vote online. The winner of the public voting will earn the People’s Choice Award, and each vote enters participants into a drawing for a prize pack valued at more than $1,000. Winners will be announced on January 30 at noon. Mobtown Events, LLC, which initially developed from a collaboration between The Mobile Rundown and Oyster Shell Strategy, is the event’s organizer and said this year’s iteration will again promote a local nonprofit.
