Serda Brewing Adds New Brews

Owners of Serda Brewing Co., founded in 2017, needed a bit of a rebirth coming into 2020, and with local shutdowns, it was unclear the direction the brewery would go, AL.com reported. Since hiring “gypsy brewer” Simon Sothras in summer 2020, the Mobile-based brewery has been experimenting and recently returned to commercial distribution with four new taproom-tested beers. Atticus Empire is a hazy double IPA with a complex flavor profile and 8% alcohol content by volume (ABV). Mangalore is a slightly lighter IPA at 7.5% ABV, with significantly less bitterness and more tropical flavor. The Ranger is a milder (4.6%) sour with a very sweet, very forward watermelon flavor. These three are expected to be the brewery’s standard taps, while the fourth will be a seasonal offering: Jubilator, an 8% helles doppelbock. Others are on the menu at the Government Boulevard taproom as the experimentation continues, including a limited run of mead using local honey.
