Silverhill Mill Celebrates Grand Opening

Silverhill Mill recently celebrated its grand opening. Silverhill Mill is located at 21638 County Road 49 in Silverhill. The owners say they received their sawmill six days before Hurricane Sally hit Alabama, and they have been able to use it to give the fallen trees a new purpose. "What started as a hobby has turned into a business that is honoring the heritage of our small community,” they said. “We have a great selection of wood that is locally sourced – black walnut, pecan, white oak, persimmon, red oak, laurel oak, sawtooth oak, red cedar, juniper, black cherry, loblolly, longleaf pine and cypress. We make custom pieces, including charcuterie and cutting boards, furniture, [and] live edge slabs and fill custom and specialty orders."
