DAPHNE, Ala. — U-Haul recently acquired 4.12 acres east of U.S. Highway 98 and west of Old Spanish Trail in Daphne and will open a retail, moving and self-storage facility scheduled for completion in 2024, the company announced. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Daphne will include a three-story building encompassing at least 700 indoor, Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible self-storage units with climate-control options and high-tech security features. Preliminary plans also call for a separate warehouse for portable storage containers. The location will also feature a retail showroom and essential mobility services like truck and trailer sharing, towing equipment, and boxes and other moving supplies. Professional hitch installation and propane will be available in the future. The company intends to hire at least 12 locals to staff the new store.
